MICROSOFT SEARCH IS SPLICED INTO 3 SEGMENTS BASED ON 5 KEY FACTORS [CCC SS].

1. COMPLEXITY OF DATA – SIMPLY WEB PAGES, WORD DOCS OR ARE THERE STRUCTURED DATA AND REPOSITORIES – DOCUMENTUM, SHAREPOINT CMS, RDBMS, CRM SYSTEMS.

  1. CLEANSE & ENRICHMENT OF DATA – Is the data in a findable format and searchable, OR DO WE NEED TO MARK UP AND CLEANSE THAT DATA.
  2. CONTROL – How much control over search relevancy, data coming in, Linguistics Techniques.
  3. SCALABILITY – ARE WE TALKING SEVERAL THOUSANDS OF DOCUMENTS OR SEVERAL TERABYTES.
  4. SOPHISTICATION OF SEARCH EXPERIENCE – IS IT SUFFICENT TO SPIT OUT A LIST OF TEXT-LINKS TO DOCUMENTS WHERE ANSWER MAY BE FOUND OR DO WE WANT TO PROVIDE ACTUAL ANSWEERS AND INTELLIGENT NAVIGATORS TO SLICE THROUGH THE RESULT SET. Is it a one size fits all or a personalized search experience.
